Stan Colie Nichols is a native of Santa Rosa County.  He has been married to his wife Joyce for 25 years – they have two teenage sons.  Their family attends Olive Baptist Church. 

Stan attended Milton High School and had the good fortune to play on two State Championship football teams and subsequently received a full scholarship to Furman University in South Carolina.  After a career ending knee injury he returned home where he graduated with honors from the University of West Florida’s School of Business.

Stan worked for State Farm Insurance Company for over 17 years.  At State Farm he managed a staff that provided service for life insurance policies for the Southeastern United States.  He later worked as a claims adjuster.

He left State Farm to start his own business, working as a residential and commercial contractor.  The current economy demands that a leader be creative, proactive and quality driven in order to succeed – Stan met those challenges and exceeded them.

Stan’s education and broad range of business experience provide him with proven leadership skills.  Stan’s vision for the Tax Collector’s office is one of excellence in leadership, pride in service and a culture which will lead to loyalty, stability and increased productivity.
